You know what gets me the most about this incident? It is how fast he ducks when the shoe comes flying! He really moved when the first shoe came flying. Now his moves were not quite as good when the second shoe was launched; he was just lucky for bad aim on that one.
Some more pictures of our Christmas lights outside. The second picture has the full moon in the background. This was the largest full moon in 15 years being its closest approach to the Earth while being a full moon.
Check out these pictures of slim residential buildings in Japan. Could you imagine living in these places? Our poor Roomba would simply be bouncing from wall to wall in a desparate attempt to suck up all our cats’ hair. Heck, I think our coffee table is wider than most of these places. (via Gizmodo)
This is one of my many pictures from our Italy trip this year. I am experimenting with some photo manipulation techniques and thought this was not too bad for a first attempt. Hope you like it.
Someone needed to do a little more research before they printed this one. I know Google translate is not perfect, but Chinese poem and hot, coquettish housewives of Macau seem not to have a lot in common. Can you imagine all the laughs those physicists had over this one. Boy they are just a hoot! (via Boing Boing)
I really love these collapsible and expandable bookcases. They would be great for an ever expanding collection of goodies (or more likely stuff to collect dust). Seeing that they are only 5500 Euros, I hope to have a couple sets delivered anytime now! Maybe Ikea can rip off the design and make them for about $100. (via Gizmodo)
Americans seem to like there camoflage shorts, tank tops, socks, underwear, etc., but check out these real world versions of camoflage. They’re amazing! (The Conservation Report via boingboing)
Thankfully the Supreme Court declined, on Monday, to take the case questioning whether Obama is an American citizen. It would have been a sad day if the Court took this case. Not only would the Court again have been putting itself into the election of our President, but it would also have given credence to people who make claims without any basis in fact. The case was brought by a New Jersey man, but the claims have been repeated inumerable times by right wing radio and blogs.
This penchence for the right to make political gains by making claims backed with no facts is really affecting the quality of the American electorate. What does it say about us, that 40% of those who voted for McCain still believe that Obama was or still is a Muslim? The American people need to learn that voting also requires the ability to decipher fact from fiction. While the popular media would now point out that both sides make use of America’s gulability, I do not believe fair and balanced means finding and equal number of transgression but it means we need to point out when one side does it more than the other and with no reluctance. If someone can make a claim that woud affect the Presidency of the United States with no proof (in fact with lots of proof to contradict it) and then bring the case all the way to the Supreme Court. then maybe the problem isn’t with the right wing radio shows or blogs, but with the education level of the American public. There I said it.
